Univision’s Nacho Meyer To Exit Leadership Role, Remain Long-Term Adviser Amid U.S. Advertising Pressure

By Hollywood Latino
Ignacio “Nacho” Meyer will step down as president of U.S. Networks & Local Media at TelevisaUnivision on October 15, but the veteran executive will maintain a long-term advisory relationship with the Spanish-language media company.
TelevisaUnivision confirmed to Infobae México that Meyer is leaving day-to-day operations to pursue a new professional opportunity. His continuing responsibilities will include projects tied to the Latin Grammys and entertainment programming, including Don Francisco’s interview series. His next destination has not been disclosed.
The arrangement provides a clearer picture of Meyer’s next chapter following an internal announcement describing his departure and transition support. TelevisaUnivision has not named a successor or detailed how his responsibilities will be reassigned.
Meyer’s departure follows nearly 15 years with the company. Promoted to president of U.S. Networks in September 2022, he oversaw a portfolio encompassing Univision, UniMás, Galavisión and TUDN, with his remit subsequently including local media operations. Previously, he led music and unscripted entertainment, working across franchises including Premio Lo Nuestro, Premios Juventud and the Latin Grammy Awards.
The leadership change comes as TelevisaUnivision continues reshaping its operations under CEO Daniel Alegre, who succeeded Wade Davis in September 2024. Its U.S. and Mexican news businesses have also moved into closer alignment through N+ Univision.
Financial results illustrate the challenges facing the American business. Second-quarter 2026 U.S. advertising revenue declined 29% to $323.3 million, while total U.S. revenue fell 11% to approximately $722 million. Advertising headwinds and competition from Telemundo’s Spanish-language World Cup coverage weighed on the quarter.
The picture was stronger in Mexico, where advertising revenue increased 23% to $353 million, supported by World Cup coverage. Those contrasting results highlight the different market conditions confronting the company’s cross-border operations.
TelevisaUnivision has not attributed Meyer’s departure to financial performance. His continued involvement in major entertainment properties preserves a connection with an executive who helped shape its music business, while leaving the next structure of its U.S. leadership unresolved.
