Award-Winning Journalist and News Executive, Elizabeth Roldán Returns to Miami to Lead the Station Where Her Career Began

MIAMI — Oct. 15, 2026 — TelevisaUnivision today announced the appointment of Elizabeth “Liz” Roldán as Vice President of News for WLTV-23 N+ Univision Miami, where she will oversee all editorial news operations for the local affiliate. Roldán, a veteran news leader, award-winning journalist and bilingual news executive, returns to the station where her television career began, bringing decades of experience building and transforming newsrooms across major U.S. markets.

In her new role, Roldán will lead day-to-day newsroom operations, content strategy and editorial direction for WLTV 23 N+ Univision Miami, strengthening multiplatform coverage that informs and serves the Hispanic community across South Florida.

“Liz brings to Miami a rare combination of journalistic vision, leadership and deep community connection. Her return to the station where she started her career reflects the strength of our talent and our commitment to the communities we serve,” said Carlos Díaz de la Fuente, TelevisaUnivision Senior Vice President of Affiliate News.

Roldán began her television career as an intern at Univision’s WLTV 23 in Miami. She has since led newsrooms across major U.S. markets, building teams, launching streaming platforms, creating original programming and developing bilingual content. She held leadership roles at both WTVJ-6 and WFOR-4, where she served as News Director for nine years and helped create original political affairs programming. She later led KHOU-TV in Houston, where her newsroom’s investigative journalism earned national recognition. Most recently at KIAH-TV, Roldán expanded the station’s streaming and digital presence and introduced bilingual programming in new formats.

Roldán’s work has been recognized with the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for Outstanding Investigative Reporting in the Public Interest, a National Emmy for Outstanding News Documentary, two National Edward R. Murrow Awards including News Documentary, the Frank A. Blethen Award for Local Accountability Reporting, an IRE Award, a Gracie Award and 13 regional Emmys, including Overall Excellence. She earned a Bachelor of Journalism in Broadcast News from The University of Texas at Austin.

Roldán’s appointment reflects the talent TelevisaUnivision’s newsrooms continue to attract and the company’s commitment to strong local leadership. Her return to Miami, where her career and her family are rooted, positions WLTV 23 N+ Univision Miami for ongoing growth as the station deepens its connection with the Hispanic communities it serves across South Florida.
