Benny Blanco is turning up the Latin volume.
The Grammy-nominated producer and hitmaker has released Hermoso, his first Spanish-language album, bringing together a cross-section of Latin music talent — including his wife Selena Gomez, Becky G, Myke Towers, Mora, The Marías, Bb trickz and Netón Vega.
Released Aug. 14, the eight-track project finds Blanco stepping deeper into the Latin music space alongside producers including Tainy and Ovy on the Drums.
Among the album’s most high-profile collaborations is “Te Olvido (La La),” featuring Gomez and Becky G. Sung in Spanish and driven by cumbia influences, the track marks another return to Spanish-language music for Gomez, who previously explored her Mexican heritage on her 2021 EP Revelación.
For Blanco, Hermoso represents a notable expansion for a producer whose credits have included some of pop’s biggest names. Rather than simply placing Latin artists around a mainstream pop project, the album puts Spanish-language music and Latin collaborators at its center.
It also arrives as Latin music continues to erase traditional boundaries between the U.S. mainstream and Spanish-language markets.
With Hermoso, Blanco isn’t just visiting Latin music. He’s built an entire project around it.
