Bad Bunny Is an Emmy Winner as Historic Super Bowl Show Scores Seven Awards
Bad Bunny can officially add Emmy winner to his résumé.
The Puerto Rican superstar earned his first Emmy as a producer of The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny, which took Outstanding Variety Special (Live) at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The victory was part of a huge night for the production, which collected seven Emmys overall, including honors for choreography, music direction, directing, lighting design and technical direction/camerawork.
Bad Bunny — born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — is officially credited by the Television Academy with one Emmy win, an important distinction from the seven awards earned collectively by the halftime production.
The win also puts Latino and Puerto Rican culture center stage at television’s biggest awards. Bad Bunny’s Spanish-language Super Bowl spectacle celebrated his roots through music, dance and distinctly Puerto Rican imagery, with Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga among the featured performers.
Choreographer Karina Ortiz was also among the Emmy-winning talent behind the show, sharing the choreography award for the “Casita Medley / EoO / Nuevayol” sequence.
And the Latino Emmy story isn’t over. The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards take place September 14, when several major categories will be decided.
For Bad Bunny, however, another piece of history is already in the books: Grammy winner, global superstar — and now Emmy winner.
